Corruption Management in the Workplace

Overview

This course looks at the implications of corruption upon government, public and private sector organisations, and the individuals within those organisations.  There is a strong emphasis on how to combat corruption, with the use of practical workshops to re-enforce identified learning outcomes, as well as covering topics such as risk assessment, prevention and investigation issues, evidence management and the use of financial investigation.

### Course Aims for Corruption Management Course

This course aims to raise awareness of the conditions that allow fraudulent practices to occur and to help participants understand areas susceptible to corruption, identifying how vulnerable staff may be adversely affected. It seeks to impart knowledge of the practices and procedures that protect organizations from corrupt practices, including the implementation of internal anti-corruption measures . Participants will learn to respond effectively to events involving corruption, including pursuing asset recovery through criminal or civil courts as appropriate. The course also aims to enhance the ability to apply relevant legislation in corruption enquiries and to demonstrate professional competence. Additionally, it will familiarize participants with the offences under which criminal allegations of corruption may be made and prosecutions undertaken, the legislative framework governing the investigation of corruption, and the principles of information collection, access, and disclosure.

Be aware of both the positive and adverse effects of corruption an associated enquiry within the wider context relative to the department/organisation.

This course is run by the Centre for Study of Organised Crime which has a broad range of continuing professional development (CPD) short courses. These are accredited by University of Buckingham in the form of certificate of attendance.

This course is aimed at those decision-makers, managers, and all members of public and private sector organisations, who require an understanding of corruption and its ramifications in the workplace.  

The course is also a must for members of law enforcement agencies and those directly involved within the procurement management arena, as well as project managers, contract managers, policy makers and advisors.
